The North, distilled — and nothing like the coach tours that dump you in Fes for an afternoon. Privately, at your own pace, you climb through the Middle Atlas to the cedar forests of Azrou (where wild Barbary macaques come to the roadside) and the alpine streets of Ifrane, then drop into Fes — the oldest, deepest medina on earth, a thousand years of craft still working behind its walls. You sit with a master potter and paint your own piece of the famous Fes blue, then trace the imperial road home past the Roman columns of Volubilis and the great gate of Meknes. Crafts you make, history you walk through, no rush.
